The Auditory Verbal Center is expanding the Auditory-Verbal Therapy department at our Macon location and is looking to hire a Clinical Fellow with strong background in AV training, Speech-Language Pathologist, or an already certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist.
We are a leader in the field of both pediatric spoken language intervention services and adult auditory rehabilitation (post implantation) services in the state of Georgia. Along with our two locations, we also offer teletherapy (which was started in 2010), to help families overcome the barriers of transportation and long commutes. Many of the clients for the Macon office are teletherapy clients from all-across the Southern Georgia territory. Teletherapy training will be provided for new hires and no travel is required to client homes.
Therapists have their own private office as well as a private therapy room with advanced technology where you do teletherapy or in-person therapy sessions. Through our large toy room at the Macon office, we provide all the toys and materials needed for therapy.
Therapists create and maintain their own schedules for all therapy and evaluation appointments, and all sessions are individual, requiring the caregiver to attend and participate as well.
We are a family-oriented team of professionals with a passion in serving the deaf and hard of hearing children. All therapists from both locations also meet weekly virtually to collaborate on clients and ideas. Be a part of the Macon team where you are valued and help make a difference for the deaf and hard of hearing children in Georgia.
Our Macon office is located in the heart of downtown Macon near the Ocmulgee River and the Ocmulgee Mounds and National Historical Park. With its rich music history, stunning architecture, Southern charm and a diverse culinary scene, Macon, Georgia is "Where Soul Lives."

About Us
The Auditory Verbal Center has spent over 47 years providing quality Auditory-Verbal Therapy and hearing healthcare services to children and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. All of our Auditory- Verbal Therapists are ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologists who specialize exclusively in teaching children with hearing loss to listen and speak. They are trained to develop the listening
pathways in a child’s brain, laying the foundation for a lifetime of listening and speaking without the need for sign language or lip reading. Our specialists offer family-centered speech therapy services, consultations, and referrals through the Auditory-Verbal Program. We also provide intervention directly in Spanish with a bilingual therapist!
We have two locations, one in Atlanta, GA and a satellite location in Macon, GA, with weekly clinical meetings with all therapists. We also offer teletherapy throughout the state.
The Auditory-Verbal Center, Inc (AVC) is a non-profit hearing center serving adults, children, infants and their families through Auditory-Verbal (re)habilitation and education. Our goal is to enable individuals to become independent and literate communicators (listening and speaking) with no life limits due to their hearing loss. Founded in 1977 AVC has 2 locations, one in Atlanta, Ga and a satellite in Macon, GA. Also offer tele-therapy for those families unable to make the drive to one of our locations. We currently have 14 employees, 6 of which are certified AV therapists and 1 Audiologist.
During the pandemic 100% of the clients are seen via teletherapy.
