Doctorate in Psychology, Counselor Education, Art Therapy, Art Education, Creative Arts, or related field is required; will also consider an ABD with doctorate completion by August 2024. Additionally, a successful candidate will have an ATR-BC from the Art Therapy Credentials Board by appointment date (ATCS preferred). LPCC-S or equivalent counseling licensure preferred. Successful university level teaching experience is required, and art therapy curriculum development experience is preferred. Teaching load is 24 credits annually.
We seek candidates who have an Art Therapy training background, including responsibilities related to practicum/internship experiences and community engagement. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate Art Therapy courses. The selected candidate must be able co-lead the development, and implementation of a Graduate Art Therapy program to align with the State of Ohio Art Therapy license requirements and recruit prospective students. In addition to teaching, the position requires a faculty member who can manage program outcome attainment, resources, supervise student practicums and research, and serve on department and university committees. Those considered for tenure track must demonstrate excellence in teaching, have an active scholarship agenda and/or engage in creative activity and be active members of the American Art Therapy Association as well as other relevant professional organizations.
