$10,000 sign-on bonus available for external candidatesAbout the PositionThe Social Worker is part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team serving adults in an involuntary inpatient psychiatric hospital. The social worker responsible for completing psycho-social assessments, providing treatment interventions, and engaging in continues discharge planning for the patients assigned to their case load.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Active in evaluating medical necessity criteria for treatment and legal criteria for involuntary treatment holds.
Complete social work assessments, provide continuous psychosocial assessment and to be actively involved in the interdisciplinary treatment planning process.
Evaluate patient needs for discharge including housing, funding and outpatient treatment, and provides active discharge planning in conjunction with the treatment team and existing community providers.
Provide patient and family education regarding the patient's treatment and discharge planning needs.
Provides treatment interventions and may provide individual and group treatment.
Will work with Court Evaluators on less restrictive orders and provide necessary information and documentation related to the patient's legal hold.
Is the primary liaison to family, community supports, and community Providers.
Follows organization infection control policies and procedures. At risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.
Follows organization policies and procedures as well as standards of care defined by regulating bodies.
Will understand and maintain social work standards of care requirements.
Performs other job duties as assigned.Education and / or Experience
M.S.W. Required
Active WA State licensure or Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (or ability to obtain before hire).
Experience in inpatient settings preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent writing and computer skills required.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Computer SkillsCandidates are required to type all documentation in an electronic health record. Training will be provided. Candidates should have basic typing and word processing skills.
