POSITION PURPOSE: Under supervision of the Chief Therapist, localizes tumor site and applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Maintains detailed records of all treatment sessions, including verification of area treated and dose given, proper patient alignment to the machine and the total dose of radiation received to date.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a Certificate program, Associateâ��s degree or Bachelorâ��s degree program in Radiation Therapy. Able to read, write and speak English.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year on-the-job experience preferred.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Must be registered or registry eligible in radiation therapy technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and be licensed for radiation therapy by the MA Department of Health in the Radiation Control Program. BLS certification.
