ChristianaCare is currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Pulmonary Rehab Department. This role is for the Respiratory Therapist who is licensed, professional, competent, and assumes responsibility and accountability for providing respiratory therapy using a defined process in collaboration with the health care team. The Respiratory Therapist in this position will coordinate the activities of the pulmonary rehabilitation patients including direct patient care, exercise and education, six-minute walk tests, oxygen determination, medication education and administration, and other respiratory scope of practice duties.
Coordinates patient's enrollment in program.
Performs medical record review, admission interview, pulmonary and cardiovascular assessment and program orientation.
Performs and documents a clinical assessment of patients while in pulmonary rehab according to established standards.
Initiates and follows a basic plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis.
Supervises and provides therapy to patients during exercise sessions, and documents care delivery in the medical record
Aware of patient rights and protects the patient/family rights and confidentiality.
Assesses patient/family learning needs and carries out teaching measures on various topics relating to the practice and techniques of pulmonary rehabilitation.
Communicates with and works on behalf of patients/families in a dignified, respectful manner to ensure effective implementation of the plan of care.
Assist in the ongoing development of the pulmonary rehabilitation program
Requirements: Graduate of a CoArc approved School of Respiratory Therapy. Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of two years of respiratory therapy experience required. BLS required.
This is a part-time, Day shift position working 20 hours a week.
