Cedar Crest College invites applications for a full-time Director of the Masters in Art Therapy (MAAT) program. The MAAT program began in 2013-14 and is committed to an arts-based learning process that integrates theories of art therapy and psychology within a studio model of treatment. Anticipated start date is August 2021.
provide oversight of the practicum/internship experience
establish practicum/internship affiliations with appropriate clinical and/or experiential settings
assure that supervision agreements are prepared for each student to define the roles and responsibilities of on-site supervisors, individual and group supervisors, and students during the practicum/internship
facilitate student placements for practicum/internship experiences.
Curriculum and Program
teach designated art therapy courses in the graduate program (in/person and low residency throughout all terms (Fall, Spring, Summer); course offerings include evenings and weekends
assist in the development of inter-campus relationships with other graduate programs (psychology, criminal justice, social work, nursing, occupational therapy)
guides/supports students as an active professional in the field of art therapy
provides professional references for graduating students
work in coordination with the School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE) programming
help facilitate recruitment of MAAT art therapy students
attend open houses for SAGE
collaborate with the Marketing and Communications to promote program
Masters degree in Art Therapy
Current ATR-BC credentials
Active participation in state, national and/or local professional organizations.
Licensed or license eligible within Pennsylvania.
Evidence of competence in teaching.
Prior clinical art therapy experience.
Prior supervisory experience at the student and/or professional level.
Experience with student advisement preferred.
