Summary

Registered Respiratory Therapist reports to the Lead Supervisor/Supervisor of Respiratory Department, this position is responsible for administration of respiratory therapy procedures to include Medicated Nebulizers, oxygen therapy, Chest physiotherapy, Metered dose inhalers, positive pressure therapy, arterial blood gas drawing and analysis with interpretation, volume ventilation and airway maintenance. Also assists in Code Blue and Rapid Assessment Team when appropriate. Registered Respiratory Therapist with the exception of the ER and critical care settings, performs therapy on a one to one basis in order to maintain high standards of care. Registered Respiratory Therapist can be assigned as a Charge Therapist for assigned shift.

• Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school for Respiratory Care and have current Florida State licensure.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist - Special Procedures must possess a BLS CPR Card and ACLS card If working in the NICU, requires a current NALS/NRP card.

Required Work Related Experience:

• Two years working experience in critical care areas as Registered Respiratory Therapist - Special Proceduressuch as ICU/CCU and 2 years direct experience in a respiratory specialty is preferred. A respiratory specialty may include specialty areas such bronchoscopies, PFT's, and any related supervisory responsibilities. Two additional years of critical care experience may be substituted in lieu of a respiratory specialty. Must be conversant with all modern technical equipment found in the Respiratory Care Department.
