This casual aide position is to support our therapists at Fairview Southdale Hospital. Requires commitment of 1 w/e per month (Sat/Sun) with ability to pick up additional weekday and weekend shifts as needs arise. Typical start time between 730-830am, typical shift length is 8 hours, though can vary. Role includes assisting therapists with patient care, transporting patients to/from rehab gym, cleaning equipment and treatment spaces, issuing equipment to patients for discharge, delivering loaner equipment to patient rooms for use during hospital stay, and other clerical tasks as needed.
Provides patient transfers and transport
Follows proper procedure when completing/assisting with patient transfers to insure safety of patient and self
Transports assigned patients in a safe and timely manner
Observes patient condition during transport and reports adverse symptoms to therapy or nursing staff.
Prints up schedule of transports from Epic.
With appropriate training may assist with patient care as delegated and under the supervision of a Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional
Including set-up of treatment equipment, monitoring patient activities, scoring of tests.
Immediately reports any observed change in patient status to supervising Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional.
May need to utilize Epic to check for patient weight/height and weight-bearing status.
Prepares, maintains and cleans department/treatment areas in compliance with safely and infection control standards
Completes cleaning per schedule
Completes maintenance, temperature and safety checklist
Completes required checklists
Assists with ordering, inventorying, issuing and verification of billing of supplies and/or patient treatment equipment, including rental equipment.
Knowledge of varying requirements for payor reimbursement of issued medical equipment, including waivers for non-covered equipment and Medicare primary walker issuance.
Ability to navigate in Epic to print up face sheet

Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
Continuing Education focused on career path of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or other rehabilitation services (cardiac, pulmonary, etc.)
