The Healing Arts Department is looking for a full time Art Therapist to provide care within our onsite pediatric hospital, Peyton Manning Children's Hospital (PMCH).
Made up of other like-minded Creative Arts Therapists in the fields of Music Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, and Art Therapy to provide well-rounded interdisciplinary support and collaboration.
Art therapy within PMCH is a well-established practice with advocates at all levels of the hospital: management, physicians, administration, nursing, etc.
Connections with local graduate Art Therapy programs allow us access to the best students/interns/new professionals to help with direct patient care and indirect projects.
Healing Arts within PMCH is its own standalone department to advocate the legitimacy of the practice; it does not reside under Child Life like many of our pediatric competitors.
Job Description / Duties:
Conducts patient assessments and establishes Art Therapy treatment goals.
Works effectively with others as art therapist often co-treats with Child Life Specialists, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and other Creative Arts Therapists
Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of Art Therapy interventions.
Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Innovation: looking for someone who can think outside the box and is interested in latest research/techniques pertaining to pediatrics and art therapy
Dedicated: interested in advocating for the practice, both within PMCH/ASV and in the community
Provide individual Art Therapy:
At the bedside during hospital admissions
Within our outpatient Center for Childhood Cancers and Blood Diseases clinic
Collaborate with other Healing Arts therapists to offer:
Wellness retreats for hospital associates and providers
Support groups to PMCH parents

Within Ascension St. Vincent Hospital located in Indianapolis, IN is housed our Healing Arts Department that provides Art Therapy, Music Therapy,... Dance/Movement Therapy, and Pet Therapy to all persons receiving care on our campus, including patients, their families, and the associates that care for them. Creative Arts Therapies is delivered on an inpatient and outpatient basis, individually at the bedside, as well as in group formats.
