Fairview is on the frontlines in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak in Minnesota. Our hospitals and facilities are preparing for the anticipated surge of patients in the coming weeks. As a result, we are seeking RTs to supplement our workforce.
These assignments are projected to last through the COVID-19 pandemic season. Candidates expressing interest in longer engagements or fulltime employment will be given full consideration.
Administers respiratory therapeutic procedures. Implements therapy as prescribed by physician, communicates patient condition and offers recommendations to physicians and other health care professionals.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
Initiates and monitors ventilator support including equipment monitoring; documents and reports patient condition or equipment setting changes to physicians and other healthcare professionals
Schedules and performs diagnostic testing of the respiratory and circulatory systems to assist physicians in assessing patient conditions
Performs preventive maintenance and safety testing of equipment and reports issues as appropriate. Preps equipment and verifies correct functions prior to use
Participates in departmental billing process to accurately reflect services provided to patients for reimbursement
Associates Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
New Graduates only - must complete RRT within 1 year of hire date
Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
