Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Child Life Specialist II to provide child life services for medical/surgical inpatient unit.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides comprehensive child life services for P5 inpatient unit and other areas as needed
Functions as a key member of the healthcare team, communicating all relevant developmental and psychosocial information
Role may evolve to include component of facility dog programming
Makes all appropriate patient and family referrals for specialty programming
Participates in planning and implementation of special events and programming
Develops and assists with projects addressing the needs of patients and families identified by the child life and creative arts therapy director and leadership team.
Provides supervision to volunteers, students and child life interns.
Develops and implements educational seminars that address psychosocial needs and challenges of hospitalization to child life interns and to hospital staff.
Maintains professional development and competency.
Participates in individual and clinical group supervision.
Minimal Related Experience: 5 years experience working as a certified child life specialist in a pediatric healthcare setting.
