Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board has an exciting career opportunity for a professional seeking to join our Emergency Services Team. The successful candidate will provide emergency services to individuals with mental health, substance use disorders and intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include providing short-term, solution-focused crisis counseling, providing intervention in crisis situations, pre-admission screening for psychiatric hospitalization, and assisting other community agencies in resolving crisis situations. Will also represent the agency in civil commitment proceedings. The chosen applicant will receive specialized training in emergency services leading to pre-admission screening certification. Individual will need to be available to work as needed, to include day, evening, night, weekend and holiday hours. This position involves contact with crisis situations at local hospital emergency rooms and sheriff departments.
In order to meet pre-admission screening guidelines established under Virginia law, individuals must meet these minimum requirements:
Education (must meet one of these criteria):
Masters degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
Masters degree in Counseling from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
Masters of Nursing degree with psychiatric service provision history
Be eligible for licensure or possess an associated professional license (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
(Additional training will be provided as part of a certification program approved by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.)
