We are currently looking for PRN (as needed) Mental Health Technicians to join our team of dedicated professionals.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:Â To provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.Â To ensure the safety and well-being of these patients and to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Conducts 15-minute rounds on patients.
Assist patients who are prone to fall when walking or sitting.
Participate in restraint and seclusion of patients when required.
Push patients in wheelchairs when required.
Supports facility service excellence standards.
Complies with facility safety, infection control and security program.
Maintains desirable pattern of attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
Carries patient luggage.
Assist patients if an emergency evacuation is required.
Give baths to patients and change patientâ€™s briefs.
Participate in implementing patientsâ€™ treatment plans by; (a) monitoring patientsâ€™ progress; (b) communicating information regarding patientsâ€™ behavior to other members of treatment team; (c) maintains communication with patient, family members and referral sources in patientâ€™s interest; (d) facilitates or co-facilitates didactic groups, community meetings, or drug or alcohol education groups; (e) encouraging and facilitating patientsâ€™ participation in therapeutic activities; (f) supervising patients to ensure their safety and their involvement in treatment; (g) providing input during shift report.
Attends mandatory training
Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation.
Participates in treatment planning: (a) helps identify patientsâ€™ problems, needs and strengths; (b) suggesting modifications to treatment plan based on observations of patientsâ€™ behavior; (c) providing input into discharge planning.
Accompany patients as assigned (i.e. take patients cafeteria, smoke breaks, etc).
Help maintain the therapeutic milieu on the unit, including, but not limited to, to facilitation of community meetings
Orient new patients to unit program and milieu.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Carry out general nursing care assistance, appropriate to the patient population as assigned and supervised by nurse in charge.
Carry out clerical and administrative assignment to support patient care and department and organization operations.
Participates in activities which enhance development of professional knowledge and skills.
Demonstrates conduct in keeping with CCBHâ€™s ethical standards.
