Summit Preparatory School, a non-profit therapeutic boarding school for adolescents in beautiful NW Montana near Glacier National Park, has an opening for a full time Licensed Clinical Therapist. This exciting position provides clinical leadership for an interdisciplinary treatment team for approximately 10 teens, including leading team meetings, facilitating clinical interventions, and providing clinical consultation and direction to non-therapeutic staff. The Therapist also provides individual, group and family therapy for the teens on their team; leads a weekly focus group with teens across teams on a clinical topic, such as adoption, grief, expressive arts, yoga therapy, and so on; helps lead multi-family workshops; facilitates outdoor activities and leads experiential therapies or volunteer experiences during the team’s outdoor challenge trips up to four times a year; and shares emergency on-call rotation with the other team therapists for the school student population.
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work or behavioral health-related field, with at least two years of experience working with teens and families in a therapeutic setting (four or more years preferred). Experience in a residential or wilderness setting a plus. Must be licensed or licensed eligible in Montana (licensure within approximately one year of start date and maintenance of license is required). Requires the demonstrated ability to provide professional psychotherapeutic services for adolescents (and their families) with psychosocial, emotional, or behavioral problems for good kids who are getting therapeutic help and continuing their college prep academics in our positive relationship-based model program. Experience in CBT, mindfulness, trauma, chemical dependency, and family systems a plus. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective clinical leader with co-workers and as a team player is a must, along with a love of the outdoors in our four great seasons, as participation is expected with your team staff and students in up to four physically active outdoor challenge trips annually. Can bring your well-behaved approved therapy dog to work with you if able to pass an obedience test.
