Cedar Crest College invites applications for a full time Assistant Director of Art Therapy programs/Assistant Professor to begin August 2018. Cedar Crest’s program is committed to an arts-based learning process that integrates theories of art therapy and psychology within a studio model of treatment. This is a 9 month appointment with a 24 credit teaching load for the academic year.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate art therapy courses, student recruitment and advising, curriculum development, program delivery, development of practicum and internship alliances, and placement coordination, supervision, and documentation. Participation in activities of the department and college are expected. The Assistant will also work closely with the Director of MAAT program to develop and implement a cohesive and well integrated art therapy program that is congruent with the College’s mission and standards, while adhering to state, professional, and credentialing guidelines, ethics, and policies.
Qualified candidates must possess a master’s degree in Art Therapy with a minimum of five years clinical art therapy experience, including in a supervisory capacity. Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. Current ATR-BC credentials are required as is active participation in state, national or local professional organizations. Availability to teach in the day and evening/accelerated programs required. Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail are essential.
