POSTION SUMMARY: The Behavior Intervention Specialist supports the school by providing a supportive environment where students who have become disruptive to the class or greater community are empowered to work through difficult situations in order to return to class a positive member of the classroom and ultimately in their own home school environment. The Behavior Intervention Specialist works closely with teachers, administrative personnel, therapists, and clinical staff in helping the students to work through their Individualized Education Plan and goals by building the skills required for a successful return to the home school district. As an active member of the treatment team, this position provides continuous individualized tailored student care, observation, interaction, documentation, and role modeling while under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of the program.
