Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) provides complex medical and brain injury rehab, chemical dependency treatment for adults and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.
Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for a Respiratory Care Practitioner. A Respiratory Care Practitioner administers all modes of respiratory care including ventilator management, routine therapy, diagnostic testing and electrocardiography. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Work independently or in cooperation with other Respiratory Therapist, Nurses, and/or Rehabilitation Technicians. Documents all modes of respiratory care in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Cardiopulmonary Department and with the attending physician's orders. Responds to Code Leo's and provides respiratory support and ACLS to patients in cardiopulmonary crisis/arrest. Performs emergency airway procedures when situation warrants and as order by physician. Provides safe delivery of respiratory therapy and respiratory medications; diagnostic testing; arterial puncture blood sampling for ABGs. Assists physician and nurses in the formulation of, review of and changes in the respiratory areas of the Nursing Care Plan. Co-signs those portions of the care plan which pertain to respiratory care during formulation, review and changes Performs electrocardiograms (EKGs), rhythm strips as necessary. Assists in maintaining stock in patient rooms and in cardiopulmonary department insuring proper operation of all intubation and respiratory emergency equipment on all units. Compiles and formulates batch charges for respiratory therapy. Assists nursing with specific aspects of direct patient care when required and not otherwise occupied with routine duties. Maintains ACLS certification, CPR certification, all required continuing education units and a valid respiratory care license. Maintains professional/service excellence demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, and hospital mission and philosophy. |
