Excelsior College, is a regionally accredited, virtual, private, nonprofit institution of higher learning seeking dynamic applicants for the position of Faculty Program Director to oversee Health Care Management and Administration in the School of Health Science.
The Faculty Program Director will serve as a member of the School of Health Sciences’ team of faculty and staff and reports to the Assistant Dean of Health Sciences. Primary responsibilities include; providing leadership and oversight for graduate degree programs, including: curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; recruit, mentor supervise and evaluate adjunct faculty; and grow academic programs.
The Faculty Program Director will be expected to serve on College-wide and School of Health Sciences’ committees and engage in professional development and scholarship. This a full-time position. Candidates must be willing to re-locate to Albany.
This full-time, non-tenured position is based at 7 Columbia Circle, Albany NY 12203.
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Curriculum Development, Implementation, and Evaluation • Oversee the development and implementation of graduate courses and programs. • Assure maintenance of quality standards in all courses and academic programs. • Engage in program evaluation and improvement efforts in accordance with college-wide and School of Health Sciences assessment plans. • Develop, implement and evaluate strategies that support student learning, retention, satisfaction and program outcome achievement. • Investigate and apply best practices for online education and adult learners to support student success.
Administration and Supervision • Recruit, mentor, supervise and evaluate adjunct faculty and subject matter experts. • Manage multiple aspects of completing projects and demands, including, but not limited to course development, working with subject matter experts, and student appeals. • Collaborate with stakeholders across the College in strategic planning and budgeting management processes, including student recruitment in the Albany area and nationally. • Grow academic programs by increasing student enrollment. • Participate in College-wide and School of Health Science strategic planning. Scholarship • Engage in scholarship and professional development.
? Minimum of an earned doctoral degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited United States institution or an equivalent, nationally recognized foreign institution of higher learning. • Experience in online higher education is required. • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication. • Ability to work closely with diverse constituencies and staff. • Demonstrated commitment to nontraditional adult education. • Extensive experience with curriculum development and outcomes assessment. • Demonstrated ability in a supervisory role
